Why Did You Choose to Selfpublish Instead of Taking The Traditional Route?
Well traditional left me with lack of the steadiness and marketing options available for self publishers. I studied the market in 2016 and waited till the end to figure out exactly how I wanted my career path to go. I don't look back on this at all.
Did You Set Out To Become an Author as Your Main Profession?
Not for a long time. I met a rabbi (no joke and I'm not Jewish) who told me 'why don't you write for a living.' He must have heard me talking about stories but it took the total stranger to make me realize 'people make money writing books.'
Which Authors Have Inspired You The Most?
When I see inspired, I go fangirl. I'm the biggest fan girl of Julia Quinn. She's not my genre but she's awesome.
Tell Us About Your Book.
Secret Crush is this book that's about this fractured family who all returns home because the horrible father is dead. It's my ode to prime time shows that had me hooked and romance. John is the second son of this billionaire family whose entire life goal was to prove his father guilty. Then in chapter one his lift goal is taken from him. Mitch has never paid for any of his crimes and now he's dead. John returns to his family and nothing is ever the same.
What Is Your Favorite Part of This Book, and Why Do You Think Readers Will Enjoy It?
I loved the family that is so distant that comes back together once the driving force that sent them all down their separate paths is gone. It's all of them returning home and I don't know, but I love stories of redemption where it's a family that comes together again.
Where Do You See Self-Publishing Going In The Future?
I don't have a crystal ball that works at telling me the future. I don't see it going anywhere.
Who Designed Your Cover Art?
I did. I paid someone to make it nice and do what I wanted. However I did a horrible cut and paste job and played with a lot of pictures till I had something that was just what I wanted. Then I paid someone to package it pretty and to make it clean.
