Why Did You Choose to Selfpublish Instead of Taking The Traditional Route?
In my sex fantasies, I like dominant men and reluctant women and I get off on impregnation.
That's not a good formula for getting published traditionally. I know I'm not the only one that thinks getting knocked-up is sexy, but it isn't the biggest club in the world. Traditional publishers don't see pregnancy erotica being worth their time. Self-publishing lets me reach my fellow impregnation fans without any hassle.
I also get to tell my fantasies more honestly this way, in an almost informal, sharing kind of way. I think that a large part of the appeal of self-published erotica for the reader is that they can sense when they're getting a heartfelt, unfiltered peek at another person's erotic life.
Which Authors Have Inspired You The Most?
Whoever wrote that first erotic pulp paperback that I found in my mid-teens. I got it at a flea market and the skeezy guy behind the counter didn't even make a comment when he sold it to me.
It was called 'Lezzie Sex Trip' and even though I wasn't a lesbian, I got off so many times to it, just from the pure sexual energy inside. Word porn was much more vibrant and dramatic than movie porn. It had feelings!
That thing blew my mind for another reason: I had never conceived that people were writing sex fantasies for money. I had written down a few of my own by that point, but I thought I was just weird. Porn was only movies as far as I knew.
But that book made me take writing erotica much more seriously.
Tell Us About Something You've Written.
All my stories so far are written in a very western style in western settings. My Prima Noctae books are set in Medieval Scotland for instance.
Now I want to take my very accessible style and help my readers explore India. I give just enough flavor to show that they're reading about a different place, but the stories remain very contemporary erotica.
'Billionaire's Biker Babe' steps into a world caught between ancient gender roles and modern technological life.
Right now is a confusing time for sexuality among Indian people. Women in India grow up with a much stronger sense of the limited role that is expected of them compared to Western women. But then many of them get this burst of freedom as adults if they can join the workforce.
Do they keep to the traditional role? Turn their back on it to lead independent lives? Is there a balance? This is a real life problem for them, especially since they deal with men who grew up expecting submissive women for marriage, but who also take advantage of the modern sexual mores to get a lot of casual sex that wasn't available to previous generations of Indian men.
Given that I'm into impregnation and submission, I naturally come down in favor of women surrendering to the men and accepting a role as a mother.
I think it's a healthy fantasy, because in real life, few Indian women are actually going to give up their independence. Yet they feel that longing to fit in with expectations.
With 'Billionaire's Biker Babe', I'm looking to give my reader a vacation into that submissive tradition, where they can soak up the role of a woman who finds happiness in the old mentality.
But once the book is over, they can get on with their independent lives not having to worry so much about what they left behind.
What Is Your Favorite Part of This Book, and Why Do You Think Readers Will Enjoy It?
I actually enjoyed writing the racing scenes quite a bit I was surprised to find. I think they work really well to position Lila for her fall into submission later.
The process of Lila surrendering and accepting that she actually enjoys being dominated is good too. There's that moment when she has to swallow her pride and admit she wants to have a baby for this man who has taken over her life, that's profound.
Any time you say to someone, "Here, use my body for what you want in a way I can't get out of for the next nine months," that's a powerful surrender.
Anything Else You'd Like to Add?
I hope people can reach across the cultural difference to give 'Billionaire's Biker Babe' a chance.
If you're into reluctant women, dominant men and impregnation, there's a ton here that will feel very familiar.
