Why Did You Choose to Selfpublish Instead of Taking The Traditional Route?
I started taking the traditional route...until I came to the conviction that only indie publishing can keep up with the new Golden Age of fiction we seem to be in! The digital universe has changed everything; the pace at which indies can meet market demand frankly leaves traditional publishers in the dust.
We can spot a need, fashion a book, dress it up and send it out into the world with a good-luck kiss faster than a traditional publisher can wade through a miserably high slush pile backlog. It's just the reality in an electron-mediated world.
Did You Set Out To Become an Author as Your Main Profession?
Oh, yes. I've wanted to write for readers' pleasure since I was ten years old - ever since I read a creative writing piece aloud to my class. I'd written a silly poem, and they obligingly giggled! I was instantly hooked on the joy of creating something fun for an appreciative audience.
Which Authors Have Inspired You The Most?
This is going to sound crazy...Agatha Christie. I've always worshiped that woman. I once analyzed the opening paragraphs to a Miss Marple mystery for a paper in a high school composition class, only to be told patronizingly, "we don't analyze books like that here, dear." That was when I vowed I would ONLY write genre fiction for the rest of my life.
Tell Us About Your Book.
Charli's Utterly Humiliating Presentation is a bit unusual on the erotica front. It's got fetish and it's got billionaires, but it's also got romance and quirk. It's the first episode in a series of romantic, sexy encounters between a stubborn alpha billionaire and an innocent young twenty-something.
What Is Your Favorite Part of This Book, and Why Do You Think Readers Will Enjoy It?
Well, I'm pretty fond of the scene where Draken forces Charli to make certain business calls. But I think my favorite part has to be when Charli talks to her nipples.
Where Do You See Self-Publishing Going In The Future?
I think self-publishing is only going to get bigger. Mega-huge, in fact. It will spark some rapid changes in the market, too. We're going to see a lot of new subgenres popping into existence.
Who Designed Your Cover Art?
Points finger at self.
I love plugging erotica! Erotica was one of the first areas to boom in the ebook world, and I believe it will stay strong. The market likes sex because humans like sex, and we won't stop liking it anytime soon unless we start evolving into amoebas or something!
