Why Did You Choose to Selfpublish Instead of Taking The Traditional Route?
I started writing on a free site so I became quite comfortable with the idea of having control over my stories. In traditional publishing you have some control, but it's not quite the same as self-publishing.
Did You Set Out To Become an Author as Your Main Profession?
That would be an ideal ending, but I like to play the role of realist. There are a number of highly talented writers out there, all working very hard at their craft. It will take a number of years of hard work before I could consider attempting to make writing my sole occupation.
Which Authors Have Inspired You The Most?
Indirectly I'm inspired by the works of John Ringo, Jim Butcher, and Robert Jordan.
Directly I've been inspired by Patient Lee and Tx Tall Tales.
Tell Us About Erotica After Midnight.
It's a collection of eight stories from eight authors. All of the stories are complete without cliffhangers. Our common theme was paranormal, but the stories vary widely from there.
Some of them are lighthearted and some are horror. My contribution, A Night in Hell, is along the lines of a slasher film with the main character a female vampire hell bent on restoring her master through sacrificing dirty, tattered souls.
What Is Your Favorite Part of This Book, and Why Do You Think Readers Will Enjoy It?
My favorite part is the variety that we offer. There is something for just about everyone in this anthology, if you don't like one story there are seven different stories. Each writer has spent years honing their craft out of love for writing and it shows in these stories.
Where Do You See Self-Publishing Going In The Future?
This is an interesting question, it could really go one of two ways. As most people know, Amazon is the behemoth with the vast majority of the market and a number of other, smaller publishers. Amazon gets a lot of grief because of the exclusive nature of Kindle Unlimited and low payout for shorter books, but I understand where they are coming from.
There are a number of ebooks out there instructing people just how to exploit systems like Kindle Unlimited, Scribd, and the now defunct Oyster. The future will depend on the authors, the market is there and hungry for books, but authors must respond with quality work and not just gimmicky stories meant to turn a few quick bucks.
Who Designed Your Cover Art?
For this book Patient Lee did the cover design. For the rest of my books, I do my own design work.
