Why Did You Choose to Selfpublish Instead of Taking The Traditional Route?
I like multitasking and organizing things that require pulling together many different threads. I also love learning new things all the time, and Indie publishing was just the challenge I needed.
Did You Set Out To Become an Author as Your Main Profession?
While it can be tiring, I like having a juggling act as a career, with two main "balls" (writing and the day job) plus a number of other flying objects to keep in the air (that would be being a good mom, doing the volunteer work I do, and acting as my own travel agent for all the traveling we love to do!).
Which Authors Have Inspired You The Most?
There's an action writer named Wayne Stinnet who really inspired me because he used to be a trucker and he wanted to write a book. So he made himself write 500 words a day no matter where he was - even if that meant before bunking down in the cab of his truck during an overnight stop on the road! Eventually, he was able to quit trucking for full-time writing. I love how modest he is yet how successful. What a great story!
Tell Us About Your Book:
New series releasing April 18:
Series name: ALOHA SHIFTERS - JEWELS of the HEART
Book 1: Lure of the Dragon
What Is Your Favorite Part of This Book, and Why Do You Think Readers Will Enjoy It?
I love the Magnum, P.I. with a shifters theme, the gorgeous Maui location, and the mix of shifters who make up the band of brothers at the heart of this series (two dragons, a wolf, a bear, and a tiger).
Where Do You See Self-Publishing Going In The Future?
Hard to say! So many people predict one trend or another but I find it really hard to guess. I think well-written stories told from the heart will always have an audience, though.
